Wofford releases 2005 schedule

A home slate which features seven Southern Conference schools and regional nonconference foes High Point, Clemson and Coastal Carolina highlights the 2005 Wofford women's soccer schedule it was announced by head coach Amy Kiah. Also on the docket are a pair of games against ACC schools.

High Point will serve as the home opener for the Terriers Sept. 2 following a pair of road contests to start the campaign at Samford (Aug. 26) and South Carolina State (Aug. 29).

Following an in-state trip to Rock Hill to face Winthrop (Sept. 5), Wofford will hit the road for Charleston, S.C., for the Quality Inn & Suites Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston. In the tournament, the Terriers will battle Florida International (Sept. 9) and ACC foe Virgina Tech (Sept. 11).

A Sept. 18 home meeting with Clemson gives Wofford back-to-back contests against schools from the ACC. The date against the Tigers kicks off a stretch in which nine of the Terriers' final 12 regular-season contests are at Snyder Field.

Home matches against Southern Conference foes include Western Carolina (Oct. 2), UNC Greensboro (Oct. 7), The Citadel (Oct. 13), College of Charleston (Oct. 16), Davidson (Oct. 20), Chattanooga (Oct. 28) and Elon (Oct. 30).

The SoCon Tournament will be held Nov. 3-6 at Furman's Eugene E. Stone III Soccer Stadium in Greenville, S.C.
