Baseball 6/2/2005 1:47:00 PM Southern Conference Four from SoCon earn Louisville Slugger All-America honors Charleston, S.C. -- College of Charleston closer Brett Harker, second baseman Chris Campbell and first baseman D.J. Wabick have been named third team Louisville Slugger TPX All-Americans as chosen by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. In addition, SoCon Player of the Year Jay Heafner was also named to the third team. Harker, the 2005 Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year, is 5-0 with a 2.27 ERA and a school-record 14 saves. He's struck out 57 and walked just eight over 47 2/3 innings of work. Campbell, who earlier in the week earned Sports Weekly second team All-American honors, is hitting .388 with a team-leading 14 homers and 85 RBI. Wabick is eighth in the nation with a .426 batting average. Wabick has added nine homers and 66 RBI. He leads the SoCon with 27 doubles. Heafner earned SoCon Player of the Year honors from both the media and coaches after hitting .448 with 11 homers and 58 RBI. The College of Charleston and Nebraska are the only teams with three representatives on the squads. All three players were named first team All-Southern Conference by the league's coaches and media. The 20th-ranked Cougars (47-13) are the No. 2 seed at the Clemson Regional and will take on Oral Roberts (40-18) in a 3:00 start on Friday.
