SoCon Announces Men's & Women's Golfers of the Week

SPARTANBURG, SC -- Western Carolina's Tripp Morrow and Elon's Megan Olds have been named the Southern Conference Golfers of the Week for April 6.

Morrow, a sophomore from Forest City, NC, led the Catamounts to the Draper Valley Invitational title on April 5. He birdied his last four holes to force a play-off for the individual medal before Radford's Josh Meador beat him on the first playoff hole. Morrow finished the 36 holes with a 142, shooting a 69 on the second day.

A senior from Stamford, CT, Olds won the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational on April 5. She fired a career-best 71 to pass seven golfers in the final round to win the individual medal, competing against College of Charleston and ETSU as well Maryland, NC State and Coastal Carolina. This is her second title in three tournaments this spring and she has been named the Player of the Week on three occasions.

Other top men's performers include Chattanooga's Gary Ferguson, The Citadel's Jordan Fink and Jeff Spencer, Davidson's Steve Mayo, ETSU's Rhys Davies, Furman's Chris Gilliland, UNC Greensboro's Jake Lowder and Wofford's Daniel Sloan.

Other top women's performers include College of Charleston's Jenn Bellso and Angie Hill, ETSU's Ashley Barton, Furman's Jenny Suh and Wofford's Laura Robinson.
