CofC's Horowitz to transfer

Charleston, S.C. -- College of Charleston center Jeff Hororwitz has requested and been granted a release from the College of Charleston men's basketball team, Cougar coach Tom Herrion announced on Wednesday.

"We are suprised by Jeff's decision to transfer, but we wish him nothing but the best in his future," said Herrion, who has led the Cougars to 63 win over three seasons. "Jeff is a fine young man and we thank him for his contribution to our basketball program."

Horowitz, who made eight starts last season, appeared in 28 games overall. He averaged 3.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest while connecting on 47.7 percent of his shots from the floor (42-88).
Horowitz was 0-for-5 from 3-point territory and shot 72.0 percent from the free throw line hitting 18-of-25.

Horowitz was second on the team with 16 total blocked shots.
