Women's Indoor Track and Field 2/23/2005 3:07:00 AM Southern Conference SoCon Names Indoor Track and Field Performers of the Week for Wednesday, Feb. 23 MenSpartanburg, SC -- The Southern Conference today named Bryan Burney from Appalachian State as the Men's Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week for his accomplishments on February 17 at the ASU Running Only Plus One meet at the Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, NC.Burney, a sophomore from Eastern Alamnace County, NC, won the 500 meters with a time of 1:03.78, which ranked third on Appalachian's all-time list. He is currently ranked first in the 800 meters and second in the 400 meters in the Southern Conference Performance Rankings.Burney is the third Appalachian State men's athlete to receive the award this season for Men's Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week.Appalachian returns to competition as it heads to Johnson City, TN for the Southern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships which will be held February 25-26 at the Memorial Center.
