Cougars crack baseball national rankings

DALLAS-The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the eighth year with its 2005 surveys. Weekly polls continue from Feb. 7-June 28, 2005, following the NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb.

The College of Charleston, fresh off a three-game sweep of Army last weekend, is ranked 35th in the poll.

The early polls of the 2005 season have representation by 11 different conferences and top independents among the 283 baseball-playing schools in the NCAA Division I ranks.
