Charleston, SC - UNC Greensboro defeated The Citadel in both teams' final SoCon match of the season, and the Bulldogs downed Campbell to give The Citadel one win and one loss Saturday evening in McAlister Field House.

The Citadel (4-8-1, 2-2-1 SoCon) and Greensboro (11-5, 4-1 SoCon) faced off first with the Spartans winning in come from behind fashion, 18-16. The Citadel led 16-13 heading into the final match, but sophomore Daren Burns secured the victory for the Spartans when he defeated freshman Aaron Brown with a 19-2 technical fall in the 197-pound match.

The Citadel then took on Campbell in the second dual of the night with the Bulldogs winning decisively, 42-6. The Camels finished the match with back-to-back decisions at 184 and 197 pounds, but the Bulldogs had already sealed the win in the sixth match. In that match, junior Travis Piccard pinned freshman Broc Dickerson at 2:16 at 157 pounds to bring his current win streak to 19.

"Today was not a great day for us," said head coach Rob Hjerling. "We still have lots to work on heading into the conference championship."

"We can't dwell on this because the most important time of the year is right around
the corner."

The Citadel will host Gardner-Webb on Thursday, February 24 at 7:00 in McAlister Field House. The match will be the regular season finale and will also serve as senior night for the Bulldogs.
