Spartanburg, SC -- Chattanooga junior Matt Keller has been selected as Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Dec. 7. Keller, a native of McDonald, TN, transferred to Chattanooga from the University of Nebraska where he was an NCAA qualifier for the Cornhuskers in 2005.

In Chattanooga’s 12th place finish at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, Keller finished fourth in the 133 pound weight class, recording a mark of 6-2 for the tournament. Keller scored a technical fall and a pin to highlight his performance on the mat in the two-day event.

He is currently ranked 12th nationally by W.I.N. and 13th by Intermat/NWCA. Keller leads the Mocs in pins with a tally of four on the season and ranks second on the squad with 10 victories on the campaign.

Chattanooga will take a break for exams and will hit the mat again on Dec. 18 when it participates in the Tournament of Champions in Reno, NV.
