DAVIDSON, NC - Davidson senior Kara Koehrn has collected yet another postseason honor, this time in the form of a selection to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Scholar All-America Second Team.

The biology major and Southern Conference Player of the Year carries a cumulative GPA of 3.48.

Koehrn was also recently named to the NSCAA’s All-Region Third Team following an outstanding senior campaign, during which she led the Wildcats to their first-ever undefeated conference record (9-0-1) and best overall record (14-5-2) in program history.

A four-time all-league pick, Koehrn led the conference in five scoring categories in 2005 ? goals (19), goals per game (0.90), points (39), points per game (1.86) and game-winning goals (9). She also finished the season ranked ninth in the nation with her goals-per-game average and 16th for points per game. The forward tied Davidson’s single-season goal record of 19 and matched the career goal record of 39.

In October, Koehrn became the first Wildcat to earn a spot on the Soccer Buzz Elite Feet national team of the week. She was also tabbed SoCon Player of the Week twice and became the league’s player of the month for October. A stellar student as well, Koehrn was recognized as a SoCon TIAA-CREF Student-Athlete of the Week for outstanding performances on the field and in the classroom.

The 50 Scholar All-America honorees will be invited to attend a luncheon on Saturday, Jan. 21, in Philadelphia, Pa., as part of the NSCAA Convention.
