Davidson 100, St. Joseph’s 94 (OT)
DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) -- Ian Johnson had 23 points and six rebounds and Davidson beat St. Joseph's 100-94 in overtime on Saturday.
Brendan Winters added 22 points and Kenny Grant had 15 points and 10 assists for the Wildcats (2-1).
The game was tied 83-83 going into overtime. Jason Richards hit a 3-pointer to start a 9-2 run for the Wildcats. St. Joseph's went on a 4-0 run with a lay up by Dave Mallon and a pair of free throws by Chet Stachitas to put the score at 92-89, but the team couldn't get any closer as Davidson increased its lead to 97-89.
Mallon, who had 13 points in the game, had forced the game into overtime with a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
The score was tied 31-31 with just under four minutes left in the first half when Jason Morton scored seven of his 10 first half points during a 9-2 run to give the Wildcats a 40-
33 lead at the half.
Stachitas led the Hawks (2-1) with 25 points and Dwayne Lee had 18.
The Citadel 70, Army 68 (OT)
WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) -- Demetrius Nelson scored seven of his 22 points in overtime to lead The Citadel to a 70-68 win over Army Saturday.
The Bulldogs (3-2) erased a 10-point deficit in the final four minutes of regulation after trailing throughout. Dante Terry's 3-pointer with 28 seconds left tied the game.
The Black Knights (2-2) missed six straight free throws in the final 90 seconds of regulation. Matt Bell and Cory Sinning both missed shots as time ran out.
Nelson, who had 12 rebounds, scored the first six points of overtime to give The Citadel its first lead at 61-59 with two minutes remaining.
Army's Jarell Brown tied it at 61, but the Bulldogs responded with five straight points. Brown hit a 3-pointer with less than a second to go, but it wasn't enough for the Black Knights.
Warren McLendon added 18 points and 10 rebounds for The Citadel, while Terry finished with 11 points.
Bell led Army with 26 points. Brown had 14 points and Sinning 10.
Minnesota 67, Chattanooga 46
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Maurice Hargrow tied a career-high with 24 points to lead Minnesota past Tennessee-Chattanooga 67-46 on Saturday.
Adam Boone added 20 points - including five 3-pointers - for Minnesota (2-0), playing its first game without All-American candidate Vincent Grier, who fractured a finger on his shooting hand in the team's Nov. 18 win.
Casey Long scored 13 points and Charles Anderson had 10 to lead Chattanooga (0-3), which has lost its first three games for the first time since 1999. Jaycen Herring, the Mocs' leading scorer, was held scoreless.
After Chattanooga cut the Minnesota lead to nine early in the second half, Hargrow scored on a feed from Boone, then drove the lane to give the Gophers a 42-29 lead with 16:45 remaining. His jumper four minutes later put Minnesota up by 17.
The Mocs got no closer than 12 points the rest of the way.
Hargrow, who had 14 points in the season opener, used his aggressiveness to get inside and score eight of Minnesota's first 11 points, including a putback of a Dan Coleman miss for an 11-10 Gophers lead with 12:22 remaining in the first half.
That basket began a 23-6 Gophers run that culminated in Boone's third 3-pointer with 3:45 remaining in the half for a 32-16 lead.
Minnesota shot 41.5 percent for the game; Chattanooga shot 31.4 percent.
Furman 91, Johns Hopkins 55
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Freshman center Stanley Jones scored 17 points as Furman beat Division III Johns Hopkins 91-55 on Saturday.
Alex Opacic added 11 points for the Paladins (2-2), who jumped out to a 21-6 lead, and led by as many as 44 in the second half.
Danny Nawrocki had 14 points and five rebounds to lead the Blue Jays (2-2).
Furman led by 31 at half and took its largest lead at 89-45 on Jadee Jones' 3-pointer with just under five minutes to go.
Furman shot 62 percent for the game compared to 38 percent by Johns Hopkins.
The Paladins also had 12 steals and forced the Blue Jays into 20 turnovers.

East Carolina 70, Wofford 68 (OT)
GREENVILLE, NC ? Wofford’s Eric Marshall hit a pair of dramatic 3-point field goals that twice tied the game but East Carolina claimed a 70-68 overtime win Saturday night at Minges Coliseum.
Wofford falls to 2-3 on the season while the Pirates improve to 2-1.
With Wofford trailing 56-53 and time running out in regulation, Marshall hit a 3-pointer to knot the game at 56 with two seconds remaining. East Carolina turned the ball over on the inbounds pass and Marshall’s shot to win the game at the buzzer just missed.
Wofford fell behind 68-61 in the extra period after a Tyronne Beale layup with 57 seconds left. But Drew Gibson hit a pair of free throws with 51 seconds left to pull Wofford within 68-63. Matt O’Connor had a steal and a dunk with 47 seconds left to cut the margin to 68-65. ECU called a timeout with 43 seconds left. The Pirates turned the ball over with 36 seconds left, setting up Marshall’s game-tying 3-pointer with 26 seconds remaining. East Carolina went to the foul line with 20.2 seconds remaining and Japhet McNeil made both shots to put the Pirates up 70-68. Gibson had a shot at the buzzer that bounced off the rim.
The overtime period was fitting for a game that was tied 15 times and saw the lead change hands 19 times. Wofford’s biggest lead was by six at 21-15 with 6:24 to play in the first half. The Pirates led by as many as seven at 68-61 with 57 seconds left in overtime.
Howard Wilkerson scored 12 of his 17 points in the first half as the Terriers trailed 26-23 at intermission.
Marshall tied Wilkerson for team scoring honors with 17 points. Marshall had a team-high nine rebounds.
East Carolina was led by Beale and Corey Rouse each with 14 points. Rouse added a game-high 11 rebounds.
Wofford was outrebounded 38-33 but forced the Pirates into 22 turnovers.
The contest marked the first game action for 6-9 senior center Tyler Berg who had missed the first four games of the season with a sprained ankle suffered during preseason camp. Berg played 28 minutes and had nine points and six rebounds.
The two teams will meet again on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7:00 at the Benjamin Johnson Arena.
UNC Greensboro 75, Hampton 72
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Ricky Hickman had 24 points and UNC-Greensboro came back to beat Hampton 75-72 Saturday.
UNC-Greensboro went on an 8-2 run to open up an 11-5 lead in the first three minutes of the game. The Spartans (3-2) ended the half up 38-36.
The Pirates (0-3) scored eight straight points to open the second half, putting the score at 44-38. Jeff Granger had 12 points for Hampton in the first three minutes of the half.
Hampton was ahead 63-54 with 8:48 left in the second half before UNC-Greensboro pulled to within one point on a layup by Kyle Hines with 6:44 left. Kevin Oleksiak, who went 5-of-6 from the line, made two free throws to put UNC-Greensboro ahead 64-63 with 6:31 remaining.
Hines had 22 points, his 10th consecutive double-digit scoring game, and Kevin Oleksiak added 10 points for UNC-Greensboro.
Jeff Granger had 17 of his 21 points in the first 10 minutes of the second half for Hampton. Rashad West was the Pirates' second-highest scorer with 14 points.

UNC Wilmington 59, Elon 51
ELON, N.C. ? John Goldsberry knocked down 17 points, dished out three assists and snatched four steals as UNC Wilmington staved off Elon 59-51 in men’s basketball action Saturday night at Alumni Gym.
Goldsberry canned five of his nine shots from the floor, including three of his seven attempts from beyond the arc. He also sank four of his five tries from the free throw line ? including a pair with seven seconds left in the contest.
The Seahawks (5-1) took control of the game early, exploding to a 9-0 lead on a jumper by Mitch Laue with 14:14 to play in the opening period. Brian Waters put the Phoenix (1-2) on the board via a jumper with 12:52 left in the first half.
UNC Wilmington responded with a 16-6 run to extend its advantage to 25-8 on a pair of free throws by Todd Hendley with 7:07 remaining before the intermission. The Seahawks settled for a 29-14 halftime edge.
The Seahawks reeled off the first six points of the second stanza ? a pair of buckets by Temi Soyebo and another by Goldsberry ? to stretch their lead to 35-14 with 18:23 remaining.
Elon replied with a 12-5 spurt to draw within 40-26 on a lay-up by Montell Watson with 12:52 to play, but UNC Wilmington used an 11-4 surge to fashion a 51-30 cushion on a three-point bomb by Goldsberry with 9:57 left.
The Phoenix then went on a 19-3 run, cutting the deficit to 54-49 on a free throw by Jackson Atoyebi with 59 seconds to go. A pair of freebies by Laue with 51 ticks left ended the Elon run.
Waters scored the final Phoenix points with a pair of charity shots with 32 seconds left, making the score 56-51, but Elon could inch no closer. Goldsberry made a 1-for-2 appearance at the stripe with 31 seconds to play and a pair shortly thereafter to determine the contest’s final margin.
In addition to Goldsberry, Hendley (12 points, seven rebounds) and Beckham Wyrick (eight rebounds) keyed the Seahawks. Atoyebi (15 points, nine rebounds) and Watson (13 points, seven rebounds) led the Phoenix.
Scottie Rice became the 29th member of the Elon 1,000-point club on his first field goal of the night ? a jumper with 13:45 left in the game. Entering the evening with 999 career points, he finished with six markers in 13 minutes before fouling out with 10:03 remaining.
UNC Wilmington shot 35.1 percent for the night ? 34.5 in the first half and 35.7 in the second ? while the Phoenix fired 26.9 percent for the evening ? 13.8 percent in the first period and 43.5 in the second.
The Seahawks ended up with edges in rebounds (42-39), assists (11-4), turnovers (15-16), points in the paint (24-12) and bench points (18-8), leading throughout the contest.
Elon hosts IUPUI in the first-ever meeting between the two teams at 7 p.m. Monday at Alumni Gym. The Seahawks head to William & Mary for a 7 p.m. contest on Wednesday.
High Point 73, Western Carolina 66
HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) - Arizona Reid scored 24 points and had nine rebounds, and High Point came back from a nine-point deficit to beat Western Carolina 73-66 on Saturday.
Justin Dunn had eight points for High Point, all coming in the Panthers' 19-0 second-half run in which the Panthers (3-1) held the Catamounts (2-5) scoreless for more than 13 minutes.
The Panthers' second-highest scorer was Akeem Scott, who had 19 points and shot 3-for-5 from 3-point range.
W. Carolina made 14 of 21 field goals in the first half, including 4-of-5 3-point tries, but sank only eight of 24 shots in the second half. Antonio Russell had 18 points and five rebounds in the loss, and Kyle Greathouse added 14 points.
Georgia Southern 90, Augusta State 58
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Elton Nesbitt fired off a season high 28 points to lead Georgia Southern to a 90-58 win over Augusta State Saturday night at Hanner Fieldhouse. The Eagles (3-2) have now won 13 straight games at home, the 10th longest home winning streak in the nation.
Georgia Southern opened the game with a 10-2 run, including a dunk by Jimmy Tobias. The Jaguars cut the Eagle lead to 4, 10-6, with 12 minutes remaining in the half. Georgia Southern went on a 18-5 run, including three straight three pointers by Nesbitt, giving the Eagles the 28-11 lead with 5:33 to play before the break. Augusta State (1-2) answered, putting together a 7-0 spurt, cutting the deficit to 10, 28-18, with less than five minutes to play. The Eagles ended the opening half on a 6-2 run, giving them the 34-20 edge at the break.
Nesbitt led all scorers with 15 at the break, including four three pointers. Dean Brebner and Karim Telfer each had five. The Eagles shot 48.1 percent from the field, while holding Augusta State to 31.6 percent.
Two quick jumpers by Nesbitt to open the second half increased the Eagle lead to 18, 38-20. Augusta State’s Tyrekus Bowman drained three straight baskets for the Jaguars, pulling them to within 16, 44-26, with 16:57 to play. Georgia Southern would not let the Jaguars get any closer, going on a 34-11 run over the next 10 minutes, putting the Eagles on top, 78-41, with 4:43 remaining on the clock. A three pointer by Jarek Swain at the 3:05 mark gave the Eagles their largest lead of the game, at 39. Augusta State’s Matt Scott hit three of his four three pointers in the closing minutes, but it was not enough, as the Eagles rolled to the 90-58 victory.
Nesbitt led all scorers with a season high 28 points, including seven three pointers. Tobias and Swain each added 10. Scott led the Jaguars with 16 points, while Brebner finished with 10. Georgia Southern shot 57.1 percent (32-56) from the field, including a season high 10 three pointers. Augusta State shot 45.5 percent (20-44) from the floor. The Eagles forced 30 Jaguar turnovers, while only committing 11.
Georgia Southern closes out a three game home stand Monday night, Nov. 28, hosting Illinois-Chicago. Tip-off from Hanner Fieldhouse is set for 7:30 p.m.
