SPARTANBURG, SC -- The Southern Conference today named Appalachian State’s Brittany Zahn as the TIAA-CREF Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of November 23.
A sophomore volleyball player from Charlotte, NC, Zahn led the Mountaineers to their second-consecutive Southern Conference championship game appearance. Zahn led the team in the SoCon tournament with 45 kills (3.75 per game) and a .217 hitting percentage.
The outside hitter was able able to procure 24 digs from the front row in the tournament, recording a career-high 18 digs against rival Western Carolina in the quarterfinals. Zahn also commandeered her second-highest kill total in the match, garnering 18.
In the classroom, Zahn is a business major, boasting a 4.0 grade point average.
