SPARTANBURG, SC -- UNC Greensboro forward Amy Carnell has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of November 1, the league announced today.
Carnell, a senior from Lake Stevens, WA, tied a school record for assists with four in the Spartans’ 8-1 win over The Citadel last Friday. Earlier in the week, Carnell enjoyed a two-goal night in the Spartans’ 2-0 shutout of Wofford.
Carnell finished her efforts last weekend with four goals and five assists to tally a total of 13 points on the week. Carnell finished the regular season second on the Spartans in the assist category with nine and first in points with a cumulative total of 19.
Other nominations for the week include Appalachian State’s Jennipher Martin (two goals last week, including game-winner against Georgia Southern), College of Charleston’s Colleen Hoban (two goals and assist in win over Chattanooga), Davidson’s Kara Koehrn (two goals, including game-winner in game against College of Charleston that gave Davidson regular-season crown), Elon’s Lizz Johnson (0.41 GAA average in two games last week), Furman’s Andre’a Morrison (two goals in Furman’s win over UNC Greensboro) and Wofford’s Mallory Bramlett (one goal in Terriers’ 1-0 win over Chattanooga).
