DAVIDSON, NC - Davidson senior Kara Koehrn has been selected to the Soccer Buzz magazine’s Elite Feet national team of the week for collecting four goals and an assist in the Wildcats’ last three matches.

Koehrn’s selection is the first ever for Davidson, who is currently ranked ninth in the Southeast Region by Soccer Buzz ahead of Southern Conference foes Furman and UNC Greensboro, as well as local rival Charlotte.

The senior forward from La Mesa, Calif., notched a pair of goals to lead the Wildcats to a 3-0 victory over visiting Winthrop to start the week of October 17. She also assisted on the Wildcats’ other goal to tally a game-high five points.

Koehrn’s second-half heroics against UNC Greensboro on October 23 erased a 2-0 deficit and forced overtime with the defending SoCon regular-season champion Spartans. The co-captain scored twice in the final 17 minutes of regulation to lead the Wildcats to an eventual 2-2 draw that preserved Davidson’s unbeaten streak, now at a program-best 11 matches.

The two-time SoCon Player of the Week ranks eighth in the nation with a goals-per-game average of 0.94 and 15th for points per game with a 2.12 average. She also leads the SoCon in scoring with 16 goals and 36 points so far on the year.
