Chattanooga fell to 8-9 overall and 3-2 in the SoCon with the loss. The Mocs could only muster 26 kills on the day with CofC registering 57 kills in the match.
Senior Rebecca Wieters paced the Cougars on offense leading the team in kills with 15. Fellow senior Amanda Timmers was a close second with 14 kills with sophomore Tiffany Blum adding 12 and sophomore Annie Uthe notching 10.
Defensively libero Marie Dobrenz led all Cougars with 22 digs with Timmers registering 16 digs in the match. As a team CofC notched nine service aces for the second straight day as the Cougars also recorded nine against Western Carolina on Saturday.
Kaycie Carr had a big day in her second game back from injury as she netted 50 assists on the day to go along with 13 digs.
For Chattanooga Leslee Ball led the team in kills with six. Libero Lara Newberry earned 18 digs on defense.
Georgia Southern 3, Wofford 0
A strong hitting performance in game two helped vault the Georgia Southern volleyball team to a 3-0 victory against visiting Wofford Sunday afternoon in Hanner Fieldhouse in Statesboro, Ga. The Eagles hit .429 in the game, the best outing by either team in the three-game match.
Georgia Southern's (11-5, 4-0 SoCon) Bailey Coleman led all players with 12 kills and finished with 18 digs to record a double-double. She also paced the individuals with three service aces and 15.0 points.
Jennifer Charles and Jennifer Schenk hit above .500 each, as they registered zero errors. Charles had six kills and 10 total attacks, while Schenk added four kills on seven total attacks. Charles finished with eight blocks, including a match-high three solo stops.
Three-time Southern Conference player of the week Iulia Porumbescu finished with two kills, four errors and 12 total attacks for a -.167 hitting percentage.
Leading the Terrier (7-6, 2-3 SoCon) offense was senior Katie Sobczyk with seven kills and 23 total attacks for a .217 hitting percentage. Freshman Brittany Thompson posted team-highs of nine kills and 32 total attacks for just her third match with less than 10 kills this season. Junior Christal Carey added six kills to the attack and 15 digs defensively.
Senior Rhea DeJesus paced all players with 29 assists.
Wofford will return home at 7 p.m. Wednesday when it hosts former Southern Conference foe East Tennessee State in the Benjamin Johnson Arena.

DAVIDSON, NC ? UNC Greensboro lost in three games to Davidson in Southern Conference women’s volleyball action Sunday afternoon at Belk Arena. The Wildcats won the contest by scores of 30-19, 30-22, 30-18.
Senior Lauren Richards and sophomore Lauren Keiser each notched six kills to lead UNCG (2-13, 1-4 SoCon). Keiser and junior Hilary Overby each had a team-high six digs, while senior Adrian Hicks dished out 20 assists.
Liz Williamson put away a match-high 13 kills to lead Davidson (6-11, 3-1 SoCon). Alison Dwyer and Jenna Dykstra added nine and eight kills respectively. Dykstra also led the Wildcats with 27 assists and 11 digs.
UNCG returns home for a Saturday match with SoCon rival Furman at Fleming Gym beginning at 2 pm.
Western Carolina 3, The Citadel 1
Charleston, SC - Senior middle blocker Marina Daniel led The Citadel with 18 kills and four total blocks and freshman setter Emily Hill added 45 set assists, but the Catamounts outlasted the Bulldogs 3-1 (31-29, 30-14, 28-30, 30-17) in Southern Conference volleyball action in McAlister Field House Sunday afternoon.
Senior outside hitter Stefanie Farris also added 15 kills for the cadets while freshman outside hitter Rachel Sanders added 10. Defensively, freshman libero led The Citadel with 16 digs.
The Catamounts were led by junior outside hitter Heather Koontz with 15 kills. Koontz was followed closely by junior Krista Neumann with 14. Junior setter Meghan Boyle supplied 53 assists, while she and sophomore middle blocker Danielle Spitzer each tallied 3 service aces. Defensively, Spitzer added six total blocks and senior outside hitter Ellie Talbot had 18 digs.
Western Carolina (4-13, 3-3 SoCon) returns to Cullowhee where they will face Furman on Tuesday, October 4. The Citadel (2-15, 0-7 SoCon) will face Charleston Southern on Tuesday October 4 at 7:00 pm in McAlister Field House.
