SPARTANBURG, SC - Davidson’s Kara Koehrn has been named the Southern Conference’s Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for October 11.

A senior forward from La Mesa, CA, Koehrn garnered back-to-back hat tricks last week in Davidson’s two league wins over Appalachian State and The Citadel to leave the Wildcats unscathed in conference play thus far in 2005. Davidson ended last week unbeaten in its last seven outings.

Koehrn tallied the first three goals in the Wildcats’ 4-1 win over the Mountaineers last Thursday and then chalked up another three in their 5-0 win over the Bulldogs last Sunday. Against The Citadel, Koehrn found the back of the net in just the fourth minute of the contest.

Other top performers for the week included Appalachian State’s Dana Murphy, College of Charleston’s Carolyn Morris, Elon’s Susannah Gianakos, Furman’s Andie Hinshaw, Georgia Southern’s Megan Macdonald, Western Carolina’s Keevy Harris and Wofford’s Mary Rea.
