SPARTANBURG, SC -- The Southern Conference landed three teams in the ESPN/USA Today Division I-AA Preseason Poll that was released on August 9.
Defending SoCon champion Wofford is ranked fourth in the preseason poll. Furman checks in at eighth and Georgia Southern is ranked ninth. Appalachian State also is ranked in the poll, checking in at number 20.
With three teams in the Top 10, the SoCon is again the national leader. The Atlantic 10 and the Gateway conferences each had two teams in the Top 10.
