UNC Greensboro Golf Update

GREENSBORO, NC-- UNCG alumnus Becky Morgan (class of 1997) will tee it up
in the Weetabix Women?s British Open, beginning Thursday at the
Sunningdale Golf Club in Brookshire, England.

The British Open is the fourth and final major on the LPGA Tour
schedule for 2004.

Morgan enters this week after a tie for 21st place, at last weekend's
Evian Masters in France. Morgan, a native of Wales, currently is
having her best year as a professional. She ranks 20th on the money
list at $334,338, and also ranks in the top 20 in driving accuracy,
ranking fifth at 82.7% and 17th in stroke average (71.18).

This will be Morgan?s fourth appearance in the Weetabix Women?s British
Open. Last year, Morgan carded a 72-hole total of one-over-par 289 to
finish in a tie for 19th. This was the second top twenty finished she
has recorded in this event.

Rising UNCG junior Nick Baker has successfully qualified
for the United States Amateur, August 16-22 at the famed Winged Foot
Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY.

Baker, the native of Madison, NC, carded rounds of 68-67 (135) at the
Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh, to grab one of four qualifying
spots.

Baker finished his sophomore year with the Spartans, second on the team
in stroke average at 73.71. He recorded four top ten finishes during
the 2003-04 season, including a fourth at the Winthrop/Waterford
Intercollegiate.
