Georgia Southern Competes at Georgia Tech Invite

ATLANTA, Ga. - Georgia Southern's Marlo Mincey set a new school and Southern Conference record in the 400 hurdles as the Eagles competed at the Georgia Tech Invitational Friday and Saturday.

Mincey's time of 58.80 set the new GSU record, and was also good enough for an eighth-place finish.

Nicole Brown and Laura Williams both competed in the triple jump event. Brown took home ninth place with a mark of 41'5" while Williams came in 11th with a jump of 40'9".

Six Eagles will compete at the NCAA Regionals in Gainesville, Fla. May 30-31. Lindy Petteway qualified for the javelin while Shaletha Lightfoot qualified for the discus throw. Meanwhile, Nicole Brown will compete in the triple jump event and will be the second leg in the 4x400 relay team with teammates Marlo and Margo Mincey and Kellie Mitchell. Marlo Mincey will also represent Georgia Southern in the 400 hurdles.
