Cougars Remain In Baseball National Rankings

Charleston, S.C. -- The College of Charleston baseball team, winners of 31 of its last 36 games, is ranked 27th in the latest Collegiate Baseball newspaper top 30 poll released Monday.

The Cougars are 37-9 overall and sit atop the Southern Conference standings with a 21-3 record. The Cougars are coming off a 2-1 week. After dropping an 11-10 decision to Georgia Southern at home on Friday, the Cougars rebounded by winning 5-4 on Saturday, and 6-5 in 11 innings in the finale on Sunday.

This is the seventh consecutive week CofC has been ranked by Collegiate Baseball. Here's a week-by-week breakdown of CofC's rankings: March 29th (25th), April 5th (22nd), April 12th (20th), April 19th (27th), April 26th (27th), May 3rd (27th) and May 10th (27th).

CofC plays at 20th-ranked Clemson on Wednesday at 7:15. The game will be televised regionally on CSS. Charleston opens a three-game SoCon series at UNC Greensboro at 7:00 on Friday. Here's a look at the complete Collegiate Baseball poll:
