Men's Tennis 4/15/2004 2:51:00 AM Southern Conference SoCon Men's Tennis Results, Wednesday, April 14 Furman 6, Wofford 1Senior co-captain Brandon Smith remained perfect in Southern Conference play, but it was not enough as the Wofford men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at Furman Wednesday afternoon in Greenville, S.C.Smith earned a 7-6, 6-3 victory against the Paladins' Brian Crook at the No. 5 position for the Terriers' lone point in the match.Earlier, in doubles play, he teamed with Chris Barlow at the No. 2 slot to give Wofford an 8-5 triumph over Crook and Allen Simmons.With his victory, Smith improved his season record to 16-3 overall and 9-0 in league action.The Terriers drop to 8-11 overall and 1-8 in league play with the loss. Furman improves to 12-11 and 8-1 in the SoCon.Wofford will conclude its regular season with a 1 p.m. contest Saturday versus Elon.
