Davidson competes in the Emory Track & Field Classic Saturday afternoon

ATLANTA, Ga. - Senior Greg Scott and freshman Douglas Noreen tallied Davidson's best results at the Emory Track & Field Classic Saturday afternoon. Scott, running in the 1,500 meters, brought home a second-place finish while Noreen placed fourth in the 800 meter competition.

Scott cut over three seconds off his previous season best with a 3:53.12 time in the 1,500 meters. Two other Wildcats competed in the same event with junior Nick Lehman notching a 12th-place showing (3:57.93) and senior Colby Broadwater crossing the finish line in 4:14.00.

Over 80 runners competed in the 800 meters, but only one collegiate trackster could beat Noreen's time of 1:53.18. The top two finishers in the event were not affiliated with a collegiate team. Two other Wildcat freshmen ran the 800 meters with each placing in the top 20 - Andrew Hazen (1:57.78) and Rob Whited (1:57.85).

In the sprint events, senior Andrew Pratt ran season bests in both the 100 meters (:11.11) and 200 meters (:22.95). Meanwhile, freshman David Ritchie posted a top-10 finish in the 400 meter hurdles (:55.75).

The lone female in action for Davidson was senior McKensy Gruelle. She finished among the upper tier in the javelin throw with a distance of 31.0 meters.
