Ryan McClester Named The Citadel's Male Athlete of the Month for February

Charleston, SC - The Citadel Athletic Department announced that junior Ryan McClester and sophomore Amara Atella were named the athletes of the month for February 2004.

McClester, a 125 pound wrestler from Lugoff, helped lead the wrestling team to its first regular season conference title. He posted a 7-0 record in the month of February. McClester saw wins over conference opponents Chattanooga, VMI, and UNC Greensboro and earned victories in nonconference matches including wins over Cornell, Virginia, James Madison and Gardner Webb. His pin fall against UNCG not only clinched the Bulldogs' fifth SoCon win of the year, but it also clinched the regular season SoCon Championship with an undefeated 5-0 conference slate.
