Football 3/10/2004 4:32:00 PM Southern Conference Wofford Continues Spring Practice Twelve inches of snow didn't prevent the Terriers from holding a recent scrimmage SPARTANBURG -- As the Wofford football team enters the final week of its spring practice, Terrier coach Mike Ayers is pleased with the progress of his defending Southern Conference champions."Our kids have worked hard," Ayers said. "We've put in a lot of offense and we've tried to really focus on the fundamentals on both sides of the ball."We've been very competitive against one another when we've been in a scrimmage situation. We feel like we're making progress and that's the big thing we wanted to do. For the most part, we've stayed away from the injury bug. "It's gone well. We're looking to try to get better tonight (6:30 p.m.) and to continue on to be a very productive spring for us."The Terriers will scrimmage Saturday at 10 a.m. before concluding the spring with another scrimmage next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
