UAB 6, Furman 1

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The Furman Men's Tennis team dropped to 0-2 on the season Friday with a 6-1 loss over the Blazers of UAB. The Blazers took two of three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead heading to singles and then captured five of six singles matches to clinch the win improving them to 3-0 on the year.

The Paladins captured their first two matches of the year when Allen Simmons defeated Andre Maier 6-2,6-2 in the No. 3 singles slot and at No. 2 doubles Greg Maarschalk and Allen Simmons downed Anton Mavrin and Sanzaruz Zaman 8-2.

The Paladins seek their first win of the year when they take on Alabama on February 7th at 2:00.
