Tiffany Tisdale Named Davidson Interim Head Coach

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson Director of Athletics Jim Murphy announced that Tiffany Tisdale, an assistant coach for the women's soccer team for the past four seasons, has been named interim head coach following the departure of Kevin Hundley last week. Tisdale is one of several candidates to be considered for the position with the search currently under way for a new head coach.

The past three months have brought a whirlwind of activity for Tisdale. She was accepted to the Medical University of South Carolina last November to begin schooling for physical therapy in May, and this past Saturday, the Charlotte native got engaged.

"Tiffany's experience and knowledge of the team allow us to provide a steady hand during off-season workouts through the spring," stated Murphy. "We will focus our efforts over the next 90 days on finding the right fit in a new head coach to lead our team forward."

Tisdale is a 1999 graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in exercise physiology. At Ohio State, she was a four-year letterwinner and captained the Buckeyes as a senior. Tisdale was her squad's leading scorer in 1996 and 1997, plus earned second team All-Big Ten honors in 1994.

Tisdale is a product of Charlotte Latin and has played semi-professionally in Charlotte for the past seven years. From 1997-99, she captained the Charlotte Speed in the W-League before joining the Charlotte Eagles in 2000. As captain of the 2001 Eagle squad, Tisdale led the team to an undefeated regular season and a W-League National Championship. She has also played internationally with the Eagles on missionary tours in Brazil, Ethiopia, Sweden, Austria, the Czech Republic and Australia.

In her four years with the Davidson women's soccer team, the Wildcats have posted winning records in the Southern Conference three times. Tisdale's responsibilities as an assistant included recruiting, conditioning and working with the offensive attack.

Tisdale also has coached in the North Carolina ODP program, served as a volunteer assistant for the Charlotte 49ers and assisted at numerous camps and clinics around North Carolina.
