Appalachian State ended a seven-game losing streak with an 81-80 win over Davidson on Tuesday...Crystal Barriner hit a three-pointer from the corner with one second left to give the Mountaineers the win...ASU held an 11 ppint lead with just over nine minutes to play when Davidson went on a 21-8 run to take a two-point lead with 12 seconds left...Aisha Bryant led the scoring with 26 points, including five treys, and is just three points shy of a career 1,000...Lindsay Smith added 19 points while Barriner tallied 16, including the game-winning trey...Ashley Hallsted led the Wildcats with 17 points and seven assists with Katie Hamilton pouring in 14, including nine points from beyond the arc...Furman picked up a conference win with a 69-57 victory over Western Carolina on Wednesday...The teams were tied at 33 at the half when Furman came out of the lockerroom on a 23-4 run, stretching its lead to as many as 17 with just under nine minutes left in the game...Kim Lawrence picked up her 1,000th point against the Catamounts, tallying eight on the night...Katie Roach led the scoring effort for Furman with 13 points while Orion Wake picked up her third double-double in four games with 10 points and 11 rebounds...Tiffany Hamm led WCU with 16 points...College of Charleston ended a six-game skid by topping Winthrop 71-57 in the lone non-conference game of the week...The Cougars led 38-32 at the half and led by as many as 18 in the second half...Patrice Bryant led CofC with 18 points while Carrie Geden added 15 points and a team-high seven boards...Charleston outrebounded Winthrop 30-20 and picked up 15 steals on the night...The weekend brings more conference action...Furman will travel to Appalachian State for a 1:00 tip on Saturday with Elon at Charleston at 2:00 and ETSU at Davidson at 3:00...Also tipping at 3:00 is the lone non-conference game of the day, Wofford hosting UNC Asheville, while Chattanooga travels to Western Carolina for a 4:00 game and Georgia Southern hosts UNCG at 5:15.
