Wofford's Men's Tennis Team Begins this Weekend in Florida

After a strong showing during the fall tournament season, the Wofford men's tennis program will kick off its spring dual match campaign this
weekend in Florida. The Terriers will open their 2004 season at Stetson Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. before facing Jacksonville Sunday morning
at 10 a.m.

Captains Jason Mengel and Brandon Smith will lead the team this spring. Both players will play key roles in the lineup.

"The guys are really excited about beginning the year," said assistant coach Kavan Hahn. "They have been working hard and getting stronger
since the fall. As a team, we're excited about our chances this season and in the conference. Everyone seems to be really hungry and is coming
off a good fall season."

Fourth-year head coach Rod Ray will guide the Terriers who are coming off their most successful campaign since joining the Division I ranks.
In spring 2003, Wofford registered an 8-9 overall record, including 4-5 in the Southern Conference. Five out of six starters return to the squad with six letterwinners hitting the court again.
