For the season, 26 of his 28 field goals are treys with 65 of his 73 field-goal attempts coming behind the arc.Wilkerson, a SoCon Player of the Week, had 12 points, 11 rebounds, and a career-best six assists. He also had four steals.The Terriers never trailed as they opened the game with a 7-2 lead in building a 35-20 halftime margin. Wofford then maintained a double-digit advantage throughout the second half."A win is a win, you move on to the next night and get ready to play again," Wofford coach Mike Young said. Tip-off is 2:30 p.m. Elon 54, Maryland-Eastern Shore 51ELON, N.C. - Carlos Moreira knocked down a career-high 11 points and Cameron Kirby hauled in a career-high eight rebounds as Elon staved off Maryland-Eastern Shore 54-51 in non-conference men's basketball action to snap a five-game losing streak Wednesday night at Alumni Gym. In the early going, the Phoenix (5-10) reeled off nine consecutive points to claim a 9-2 lead on a Jackson Atoyebi lay-up with 15:08 to play before the break. Elon etched 14 of the game's next 25 markers to secure its first double-digit advantage at 23-13 on a jumper by Atoyebi with 6:14 left in the opening stanza.The Hawks (1-10) scored seven-straight points to pull within 23-20 on a three-point basket by Antoine Joiner with 4:04 remaining in the first period. The Phoenix used a 10-2 surge to extend its edge to 33-22 on a pair of free throws by Steven Harvin with 1:06 to play before halftime.Maryland-Eastern Shore scored nine unanswered points early in the second half to inch within 37-36 with 13:10 to play on a three-point bucket by Aaron Wellington. Elon responded with seven unanswered markers of its own, stretching its lead to 44-36 when Montell Watson canned a pair of freebies with 12:18 on the clock.The Hawks soared to a 49-47 edge - their first lead since 2-0 - thanks to a three-pointer by Tee Trotter to cap a 13-3 UMES run with 5:47 remaining. Watson connected on a lay-up to tie the contest with 3:25 left and ignite a 7-0 spurt by the Phoenix. Moreira followed up a three-point bomb by teammate Matt Nowlin with a pair of charity shots - Elon's final points of the night - to grant the Phoenix a 54-49 advantage with 2:30 to play. Scott DeWitt sank a jumper for the Hawks with 2:03 left to determine the contest's final margin. Trotter's buzzer-beating attempt from three-point land bounced off of the back of the rim to preserve the Elon victory.Moreira connected on three of his five attempts from the field and on all five of his tries from the charity stripe to reach double figures in the scoring column while swiping a career-high and game-best four steals. Atoyebi also tallied 11 points despite second-half foul trouble. He was whistled for four personal fouls - all in the second period.Trotter pumped in a game-high 17 points, Wellington recorded 11 markers and Jareem Dowling pulled down eight caroms to pace the Hawks, who finished with advantages in three-point field goal percentage (43.8-27.3), free throw percentage (75.0-68.4), turnovers (17-19), blocked shots (2-1), points off turnovers (20-14) and second chance points (7-2). The Phoenix emerged with edges in field goal percentage (42.2-38.8), rebounds (34-28), assists (9-8), steals (11-6), points in the paint (28-12), fast break points (10-3) and bench points (20-16).
