Davidson Men's Tennis Squad Continuing Fall Season

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Davidson men's tennis team completed play at the Washington & Lee Fall Tennis Classic Sunday with freshmen John Bolton and Jay Chitty reaching the finals of the number two singles flight bracket.

Bolton cruised to the finals by defeating Graham Nix of Washington & Lee in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Meanwhile, Chitty fought back from a one-set deficit to down Colin Malcolm of James Madison, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. Because both players reaching the finals were from Davidson, the championship match was not played.

In doubles action, Chitty and sophomore Joe Cheaney fell in the finals of the number one flight to Augusto Ballester and Stephan Dufils of George Mason, 8-5.

The Wildcats continue fall tournament action at the beginning of October in the UNC Invitational.
