Southern Conference Football Record Book

The records displayed on the following pages represent a new set of records for the Southern Conference. Since the Conference was re-classified I-AA in 1982, the SoCon record book has reflected records from all games played by its members and the student-athletes. In many cases, teams were playing as many as 15 games in a season and student-athletes could participate in well over 50 games during a career. In order to put the SoCon records into line with the NCAA policy of only counting regular season games, the SoCon records were re-figured to include only participation during the 11-game regular season. In a number of cases, the record holder may have changed. Also, the annual SoCon statistical leaders were re-figured to reflect only 11-game statistics.

As was the case in recent years, only statistics since 1953 are reflected in the record book since access to records prior to that season is inconsistent.

Should you have any changes or additions to the record book, please feel free to contact the Conference Office.
