Western Carolina Adds Two More Soccer Signees

Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's soccer program has signed two additional players for the 2003 squad. Keevy Harris of Sophia, N.C., and Tammy Jones of Pink Hill, N.C., head coach Debbie Hensley announced.

Harris, a forward/defender, was a four-sport athlete at Randleman High School. She competed in soccer, track and field, cross country and was the placekicker on the boys varsity football team. As a two-time team captain for the soccer squad, Harris was named the Trinity Tournament MVP all but her junior year, scoring 26 goals and posting eight assists as a senior. She was a three-time all-conference selection and participated in the Summer State Games of N.C., after her junior year. She was voted her team's Best Offensive Player as a freshman. Harris played club soccer for the PSA Lady Stars between 2000-02 where she was the team captain and received the Spirit of PSA award in 2001. Among her many extra curricular activities, she's a member of National Honor Society, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Beta Club and the traveling youth choir.

Jones, a midfielder, was also a four-sport athlete for East Duplin High School, competing in soccer, basketball, volleyball and track and field. She was a three-time all-conference selection and named her team's MVP and captain. She was also named the MVP for her track team. Jones played club soccer for the Jacksonville United Club Team. She has been an honor student and a member of her school's student government and FCA.

Harris and Jones join signees Jennifer Deck, Meghan Reilly, Alesha Row and Stephanie Svoboda who all signed National Letters of Intent with the Catamount soccer program on February 5.
