Women's Soccer 2/5/2003 7:13:00 PM Southern Conference Davidson's Kara Koehrn Names To All Frosh Team DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson freshman Kara Koehrn was named to the All-Freshman Southeast Region by SoccerBuzz magazine.Koehrn, a native of La Mesa, Calif., started in all 20 games for the Wildcats this season. The 5-7 defender scored two goals and tallied two assists as a rookie. She was named to the all-tournament team at the Rocky Rococo Classic in Wisconsin for her outstanding performance on defense during the tournament.Koerhn, a Baker Scholar, was the first Wildcats' women soccer player to receive the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year award. She also garnered second team all-conference honors."We are very happy to see Kara recognized by coaches in our area as one of the top newcomers," head Coach Kevin Hundley stated. "Kara belongs in this category of first-year players, and we are confident her skills will keep her among this group for years to come."Nicky Darling of Furman was the only other player from the Southern Conference recognized.
