Baseball 2/26/2003 5:41:00 PM Southern Conference Spartan Baseball In National Top 30 GREENSBORO, NC - One of the hottest teams in the entire country, the UNCG baseball team found themselves among the nation's elite Feb. 24. The Spartans are 28th in this week's Collegiate Baseball newspaper's NCAA Division I poll.UNCG (8-0) has won eight consecutive games to open the 2003 campaign; only Arizona State has a current longer winning streak in the country. The Sun Devils have won 12 straight, while Tennessee and the Spartans have each won eight.UNCG has dominated its opponents to this point of the season. The Spartans have outscored their opponents 105-23 and have registered 10 or more runs in six of their eight outings.UNCG was the only Southern Conference school among the top-30. The Spartans are also 35th in this week's Sports Weekly/ESPN Top 25 College Coaches Poll.UNCG returns to action this Saturday afternoon for the first game of a three-game series with Lemoyne. First-pitch for game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.
