Davidson Soccer Lands In Top 25

DAVIDSON, S.C. - After sweeping through the Southern Conference Tournament, the Davidson men's soccer team earned a spot in the national rankings this week. Davidson is currently ranked 22nd according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Division-I poll. This is Davidson's first mention in the poll this season. The Wildcats are also ranked fourth in the South Region poll, behind No. 4 Wake Forest, No. 10 North Carolina and No. 14 Florida International.

The Wildcats (15-5-2, 6-1-0) posted three straight shutout victories this past weekend to take home the Southern Conference Tournament title. The title earned the 'Cats an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995. Davidson will take on No. 12 Coastal Carolina (18-2-0, 6-1-0), the Big South Champion, in the first round of the tournament. The Wildcats and Chanticleers met earlier this season with Coastal coming out on top, 1-0. First round action is set for Friday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m., at Coastal Soccer Field.
