Halin, Martin Selected Cross Country Runners of the Week

SPARTANBURG, SC -- The Southern Conference announced today that Appalachian State's Joe Halin and Davidson's Allie Martin have been named the Cross Country Runners of the Week for their performances on October 4.

Halin ran a 24:52 at the 7.85 km course at the Blue Ridge Open in Boone, NC, this weekend. He was fourth overall and the third collegian. A junior from Marlton, NJ, Halin is currently ranked second on the SoCon performance list with an adjusted time of 25:20 for 8K.

A sophomore from Orlando FL, Martin ran a 18:13 for 5000m finishing 5th at the Appalachian Invitational. She competed against runners from Va Tech, Alabama, UNCG, Elon, Appalachian, Milligan and Virginia Intermont. This time ranks her second in the SoCon. Martin is a psychology major.
