Chattanooga Cracks ESPN Mid-Major Poll

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The Chattanooga men's basketball team is ranked No. 9
in the Jan. 14 ESPN.com Mid-Major Top 10 Poll.

The Mocs, 12-3 overall entering Saturday's game against Appalachian State,
earned the ranking after consecutive wins over conference foes UNC
Greensboro, College of Charleston and Davidson. The victory over the
Cougars was UTC's first ever on the Charleston campus, and last Monday's
win over the Wildcats came against the defending SoCon Champions.

Interestingly, the College of Charleston and Davidson, who have been in the
poll for several weeks, were knocked out of this week's top 10.

Creighton is ranked No. 1 with a 13-1 record. Kent State, which defeated the
Mocs 89-84 on Dec. 18, is ranked fourth at 9-2.

The UTC-Appalachian State game tips off at 7 p.m. in The McKenzie Arena.
