Wofford Football Reports August 8

The Wofford College football team will report Aug. 8 for the start of
preseason camp.

Head Coach Mike Ayers, the Terriers' all-time winningest coach with 81
victories, and his assistant coaches have begun staff meetings in
preparation for the arrival of 90 players. Following two days of
conditioning and weight tests, Wofford will practice for the first time
on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 11. The Terriers will hold their Picture Day
that same morning.

"We're very excited about this coming season and the kids we have,"
Ayers said. "It's a busy time. There's a lot of things to do when you
look at all the practice organization, practice plans, scripts, and
everything that's required for a successful preseason camp.

"We have a short time and we need to be ready as a staff to make sure we
have a great camp."

The Terriers open their first-ever 12-game regular season with an Aug.
31 home date versus Newberry. Wofford begins SoCon play on Sept. 21 at
Georgia Southern. Included in this year's non-conference slate is a
Sept. 28 contest at defending ACC-champion Maryland.
