Mocs Hire Strength Coach

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---Scott Brincks has been named head strength and
conditioning coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, UTC
athletics director Steve Sloan announced May 20.

Brincks will be responsible for the weight training and conditioning of all
UTC student-athletes and will officially begin his appointment June 3.

"I am excited about being at UTC and about coming into a new situation," he
said. "The student-athletes are going to work hard. I need to familiarize
myself with everyone and try to adjust."

Brincks comes to UTC after spending three years at the University of
Kentucky where he served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach
for the Wildcats' football team.

A native of Calmar, Iowa, Brincks is a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College
where he played football and baseball. Upon graduation, he stayed at IWC
to work as assistant football and assistant baseball coach in 1994 and
1995. He was the head baseball coach from 1996-98 then worked for the
football team as its defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator in 1998.

Brincks replaces Tim Martin who resigned recently to enter private business.
