Furman Announces Volleyball Signees

GREENVILLE, South Carolina - Furman volleyball coach Michelle Young
announced on May 23 the signing of three prepsters to National Letters of
Intent to play for the Lady Paladins beginning in 2002. Caitlin White
(Grand Rapids, Michigan), Erin Caylor (Colorado Springs, Colorado) and
Molly Rybak (Bloomington, Minnesota) comprise the 2002 Furman recruiting
class.

A 6-1 middle blocker, White received all-conference, all-district and
all-region in 2000 and 2001 and earned all-state recognition in her senior
season at Forest Hills Central in Grand Rapids. She plays for the Far Out
Volleyball Club and will bring added depth and size to the Furman middle.

White is joined by a 5-11 outside hitter in Caylor. Caylor, a product of
Rampart High School, was a Junior National All American in 2000 and earned
all-state in 1999, 2000, and 2001. She was named to the Who's Who in Sports
All Stars and was the 2000 Colorado Player of the Year.

The recruiting class is rounded out with the addition of Rybak, a setter
who was a five year letterwinner and 1999 Defensive Player of the Year at
Jefferson High School. In addiiton, she was team Most Valuble Player in
2000 and 2001 and was twice named all conference. Rybak was also all metro,
all state, and was the Star Tribune Player of the Week in 2001.

"I am excited about having these talented young athletes on our roster,"
said Young. They will have an immediate impact on our team, raising the
level of competition in practice despite the fact that we return a great
senior class. I think all three will have outstanding careers at Furman."
