Wofford Inks Junior College Catcher

The Wofford College baseball program has announced the signing of
catcher Jason Nidiffer to a National Letter-of-Intent.

A native of Bristol, Tenn., Nidiffer played the last two seasons for
Walters State (Tenn.) Junior College. He batted over .300 this year
while throwing out close to 50 percent of opposing base stealers in
helping lead Walters to a 51-6 record and a No. 2 national ranking.

Nidiffer hit .536 last summer for the Dizzy Dean Tennessee state
champions as his team placed fourth in the Dizzy Dean World Series. He
had a .467 average for the 2000 team which finished as the national
runner-up.

The valedictorian of his senior class at Tennessee High School, Nidiffer
was a three-year starter and All-Conference selection. He was the Team
Captain and Most Valuable Player his senior year.
