Furman's Stackhouse Fifth in 800m at UC Irvine

IRVINE, California -- Furman senior Julie Stackhouse placed fifth in a
field of 28, posting a time of 2:14.10 in the 800m dash at the Steve Scott
Invitational on May 5.

Though the time did not better Stackhouse's school-record mark of 2:11.41,
coach Gene Mullin was pleased.

"In a meet of this caliber, with the time
change and the new and different environment, I think Julie ran pretty
well. I feel certain that if she could have spent another week out there
in preparation, she would have been right in the hunt."

The Steve Scott was hosted on Sunday, May 5, by UC-Irvine.
