Charlotte Defeats Davidson 6-1 in Men's Tennis (April 4)

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - For the fourth consecutive year, cross-county rival Charlotte defeated the Davidson men's tennis team, this time by a count of 6-1 Thursday afternoon at the Charlotte tennis complex.

The host 49ers (3-12) won two of the three doubles matches to earn an early 1-0 lead. In the number three contest, junior Geoffrey Mullen and sophomore Jonathan Britt defeated Marlo Santoso and Jess Rutledge, 8-5.

All six singles contests were decided in straight sets. Davidson's (8-11) lone win came from Britt at number four. He downed Jonathan McGovern, 6-3, 6-3, to pick up his eighth win of the year.

The Wildcats are right back in action tomorrow, April 5, hosting conference-foe Appalachian State. Matches are slated to start at 2 p.m.
