Furman Women's Golf Heads to NCAA East Regional


GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Furman's Lady Paladin golf team learned on
Monday that they will be the ninth seed in the NCAA East Regional Golf
Tournament when it begins May 9 in Baton Rouge, La.

Furman earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals by virtue of its
victory in the Southern Conference Tournament. The Lady Paladins have
received an automatic or at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals every year
since they began in 1993. The Lady Paladins have made the NCAA
Championships 13 times since 1983, the last in 1999.

The NCAA East Regional will be held at Louisiana State's University Club in
Baton Rouge. Furman will practice May 8 at 9:16 a.m. and will tee off
beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the tournament's first round.
