Football 4/16/2002 10:24:00 AM Southern Conference Wofford's Haughey Suffers Knee Injury Wofford College quarterback Nick Haughey will be sidelined until this fall after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee in practice on April 12.Haughey underwent an MRI April 16 and will have surgery the first part of next week. A rising senior from Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, S.C., Haughey had been in contention to start at quarterback for the Terriers. He is hopeful of returning to non-contact drills in August.Rising sophomores Jonathan Carey, Trey Rodgers, and Jeff Zolman will now compete for the starting job.Carey (Jonesboro, Ga.) did not see game action last season. Rodgers appeared in four games. The former local standout at Dorman High School in Spartanburg rushed for 48 yards on eight carries while completing 2-of-3 passes for 17 yards. Zolman (Miamisburg, Ohio) saw limited duty in two appearances.
