Zakin won in straight set over Frantisek Stejskal 6-4,4-0, while du Plessis outlasted Ryan Harwood 7-5,7-5.The win lifts the Cougars, 1-1 in SoCon play, to 7-2 overall this season. Charleston returns to action Saturday against Southern Conference foe Appalachian State.
