SoCon Men's Tennis Capsules for February 14

Washington & Lee Defeats VMI, 7-0

LEXINGTON, VA -- The Washington and Lee tennis team (1-1) defeated VMI (2-4, 0-2 SoCon), 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at W&L's Duchossois Center.
The Generals won all six singles matches and two of three doubles matches on the day.

The Keydets will host St. Franis (Pa.) on Saturday morning at 10, while the Generals will host Emory & Henry on Thursday afternoon at 4.

CofC Falls Short at Charleson Southern

CHARLESTON, SC - Charleston Southern's Sofiane Rechag and Zalan Kiss scored victories at number five and six singles respectively to lead the Buccaneers to a 4-3 victory over the College of Charleston in men's tennis action Wednesday at Charleston Southern.

The Cougars opened up an early lead, thanks to doubles victories by number doubles partners Sagi Zakin and Phillip Koller and number two doubles pair Eyal Omid and Thorben Kolk. However, CSU claimed wins in four of six singles matches to edge the Cougars.

Zakin, a 6-4,6-2 winner over Tomas Miho, and fourth-seeded Phillip Koller grabbed the only singles wins for the Cougars.

CofC, now 1-1 on the 2002 season, return to action Saturday when they host UNC Asheville at 10 a.m.
