Directions to Dixie Plantation (2002 Cross Country Championships site)

From I-26
Take 526 towards Savannah. When 526 ends take Hwy 17 South towards Savannah. You will have about 10.6 miles to go. When you reach the turn to Kiawah and Seabrook Islands (there is an Amoco and a Shell and a Burger King there) you have about 6.1 miles to go. After you go past the Dodge Store and over a series of bridges take the left turn to Hollywood, SC, which is SC Highway 162. At this point you have 3.3 miles to go to Dixie. From the time you turn onto SC-162 you drive 2.5 miles to the next turn, which is difficult to recognize. At that point the paved road veers sharply to the right and there is a sign for Dixie Kennels on your left at the beginning of a dirt road that runs straight ahead at the very point that the highway veers to the right. Take the dirt road, but be careful taking the turn. Traffic coming toward you is fast, difficult to see, and has the right of way. Once you are on the dirt road you drive 0.8 miles to the front gate of Dixie Plantation. It is not well marked and you recognize it by careful use of your odometer and the brick gate painted white.

From Folly Beach
Take Folly Road (seven or eight miles) to Highway 171 and Highway 17 (they vear off to the left). Take the next left, which is Highway 17.
