The announcement was made by the> NSCAA/adidas All-America committee.> > This is the second consecutive season that two Davidson players have> earned all-region honors. There are now seven Wildcat players that> have earned regional honors for their play.> > A total of 36 players from 17 teams were named to three teams in the> South Region. There were a total of eight Southern Conference players> named to the teams. The South Region is widely considered one of the> toughest regions in the country and consists of a total of 37 Division> I teams.> > "Getting two players named All-South over the last two seasons is a> sign that the other coaches in the South Region are recognizing the> level of talent that our players represent," said first-year Head> Coach Matt Spear.> > Norbet was named to the All-South Region's second team for his play> this season. As the team MVP, Norbet led the team in both points and> goals scored during the season. His 19 goals and 42 points were both> the fourth highest totals in school history. He sits seventh among all> NCAA Division I players in both points per game and goals per game> through the end of November. His 99 career points are tied for> second-most in school history with Robert Clarke (1993-96). His 41> goals is third best in the school annals while the 17 assists during> his career is sixth best all-time.> > Ozimek was named to the All-South Region's third team. He was named> All-South for the second season becoming just the third Davidson> player to ever capture that distinction twice. This season Ozimek was> second on the team in points with 18. His eight assists tied for the> team lead in 2001 while his five goals put him second on the team in> that category. Although he played just two seasons at Davidson, he> ranks in the top 10 in career assists and was also named> all-conference in both seasons.
