Women's Soccer Wrap-up for September 26

Davidson Tops Wofford, 4-0

SPARTANBURG, SC - Leigh Anne Hoskins scored twice Wednesday night, leading Davidson to a 4-0 win over the Wofford women's soccer team tonight at Snyder Field.

Tara Maloney opened the scoring for the Wildcats with an unassisted rebound goal midway through the first half. It was followed up less than four minutes later by Hoskins's first goal, assisted by Lauren Davis and Jane Boer.

Midway through the second period, Hoskins scored again, off of a cross from Denielle Erikson and Maloney. With under seven minutes remaining, Natalie Cox closed out the scoring for Davidson with a shot from Sarah Huber.

Wofford outshot the Wildcats, nine to seven, in the first half, while Davidson shot nine to Wofford's three in the second. Sarah Hobart notched the shutout with four saves for the Wildcats. Katie Menegaz made two saves for the Lady Terriers, while Katie Donnelly picked up one.

With the win, Davidson moves to 2-6 on the season. Wofford falls to 1-5.
