The Southern Conference has placed two representatives in the NCAA Baseball Championships.

The Southern Conference has placed two representatives in the NCAA Baseball Championships. The Citadel, which finished second in the regular season standings, won the SoCon Tournament with a 4-3 win over UNC Greensboro on May 19. The Bulldogs earned the SoCon's automatic bid and will play in the Columbia, SC regional, opening with host South Carolina at 7 pm on Friday, May 25.

Georgia Southern, the SoCon's regular season champion, earned an at-large berth to the Baseball Championships. The Eagles will play in the Athens, GA regional and open against the host Georgia Bulldogs on Friday, May 25 at 7 pm.

This marks the first time since 1986 that the SoCon has landed two teams in the NCAA Tournament. The Citadel is the last SoCon team to make the College World Series, advancing in 1990.
